Appeared as Agonus laevigatus Segalinesis n. sp.; regarded as a new replacement name for Agonus segaliensis Tilesius 1809. Specimen MNHN 7301 (dry), regarded as holotype of Agonus laevigatus Tilesius 1813 (Valenciennes in Cuvier 1840 [ref. 4980], Blanc & Hureau 1968 [ref. 20738]), is actually a syntype of Agonus dodecaedron Tilesius 1813 (Svetovidov 1978:28 [ref. 6025]). •Synonym of Brachyopsis segaliensis (Tilesius 1809) -- (Kanayama 1991:112 [ref. 19261], Sheiko 1993:74 [ref. 21227], Parin et al. 2002:S97 [ref. 28300], Sheiko & Mecklenburg 2004:15 [ref. 27591], Parin et al. 2014:287 [ref. 33547], Dyldin & Orlov 2017:69 [ref. 35138]).
