Paratypes: MRAC 94-74-P-2-9 (8). •Valid as Nannocharax rubrolabiatus Van den Bergh, Teugels, Coenen & Ollevier 1995 -- (Vari & Ferraris 2004:558 [ref. 28020], Vari 2007:449 [ref. 30023], Moritz 2010:289 [ref. 30684], Jerep et al. 2014:368 [ref. 33246], Jerep & Vari 2014:49 [ref. 33325], Manda et al. 2021:328 [ref. 38403]). Current status: Valid as Nannocharax rubrolabiatus Van den Bergh, Teugels, Coenen & Ollevier 1995. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Western Africa: Sanaga River basin, Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
