Current status: Valid as Oligolepis stomias (Smith 1941). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Philippines and Taiwan north to southern Japan, south to Papua New Guinea; Samoa. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
