Holotype (unique): PMBC 4620 [ex Ph. 2094]. Type catalog: Nateewanthana 1990:71 [ref. 20165] as crocratus. •Valid as Cryptocentrus crocatus Wongratana 1975 -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:636 [ref. 25122]). •Valid as Myersina crocatus (Wongratana 1975) -- (Larson & Murdy 2001:3598 [ref. 26293], Satapoomin & Winterbottom 2002:62 [ref. 26168], Winterbottom 2002:70 [ref. 25955], Hoese & Larson 2004:168 [ref. 28074], Shibukawa 2009:280 [ref. 30449], Yoshida et al. 2013:192 [ref. 34464], Shibukawa in Kimura et al. 2018:262 [ref. 36460]). •Valid as Myersina crocata (Wongratana 1975) -- (Shibukawa & Satapoomin 2006:29 [ref. 28710], Allen & Randall 2011:563 [ref. 31615], Allen & Erdmann 2012:879 [ref. 31980], Prokofiev 2016:647 [ref. 35020], Greenfield & Randall 2018:98 [ref. 36091]). Current status: Valid as Myersina crocata (Wongratana 1975). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Andaman Sea, Gulf of Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and southern China. Habitat: marine.
