polylepis, Spinibarbus denticulatus Chu [X.-L.] in Zheng et al. 1989:169[Engl. p. 411], Fig. 129 [Fishes of the Zhujiang River; ref. 21202] Zhu-jiang system, Xan-tang, Luxi County, Yunnan Province, China. Holotype: KIZ 775399. Paratypes: KIZ (9). Type catalog: Du et al. 2013:347 [ref. 32939]. •Synonym of Spinibarbus denticulatus (Oshima 1926), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Chu & Cui in Chu & Chen 1989:156 [ref. 13584], Zheng et al. 1989:169 [ref. 21202], Zhu 1995:51 [ref. 25213] as polulepis, Shan et al. in Yue 2000:45 [ref. 25272], Zhang et al. 2016:104 [ref. 34477]). •Valid as Spinibarbus polylepis Chu 1989 -- (Yang & Chen 1995:68, 150 [ref. 23555], Tang et al. 2005:77 [ref. 28199]). Current status: Valid as Spinibarbus polylepis Chu 1989. Cyprinidae: Spinibarbinae. Distribution: Pearl River, China. Habitat: freshwater.
