Original genus is correctly Crossocheilus. Spelled 2 ways originally, burmanicas (p. 324) and burmanicus (on p. 319); Kottelat serves as first reviser, selecting the spelling burmanicus and treating it as a specific name. Based mostly on Mukerji 1934:52. See Das 2003:355 [ref. 27706]. •Valid as Crossocheilus burmanicus Hora 1936 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:414 [ref. 20764], Karmakar 2000:29 [ref. 25662], Kottelat 2003:399 [ref. 27358], Kottelat 2013:89 [ref. 32989], Zhang et al. 2016:108 [ref. 34477]). •Valid as Gonorhynchus burmanicus (Hora 1936) -- (Sayyadzadeh et al. 2015:359 [ref. 34017], Ciccotto & Page 2016:489 [ref. 34501], Bleher 2018:540 [ref. 36647]). •Valid as Tariqilabeo burmanicus (Hora 1936) -- (Kottelat 2016:445 [ref. 34856], Shangningam & Kosygin 2022:59 [ref. 39587]). Current status: Valid as Tariqilabeo burmanicus (Hora 1936). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: South Asia: Irrawaddy and Salween River (India and Myanmar). Habitat: freshwater.
