Holotype: SIO 71-300. Paratypes: HIMB 70-1221 (76), 71-22 (18), 71-617-18 (32, 62), 71-622 (22), 71-631 (30); LACM 30-988 (1), 92-6216 (1); OS 012814 (5); SIO 71-300 (3). The neuter ending is ense. •Valid as Nannobrachium hawaiiensis Zahuranec 2000 -- (Love et al. 2005:46 [ref. 37547], Mundy 2005:230 [ref. 28379], Love et al. 2021:70 [ref. 39279]). •Valid as Lampanyctus hawaiiensis (Zahuranec 2000) -- (Page et al. 2023:96 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Lampanyctus hawaiiensis (Zahuranec 2000). Myctophidae: Lampanyctinae. Distribution: North Pacific: Philippines and southern Japan, Hawaiian Islands east to southern California (U.S.A.) and Pacific coast of central Baja California (Mexico), south to Line Islands (Kiribati). Habitat: marine.
