Holotype: USNM 231724 [ex 260468-F1]. Paratypes: (several) USNM 220416-17 (1, 2), 221382 (1), 221414 (1), 221418 (1), 231725 (1). Type catalog: Howe & Springer 1993:5 [ref. 21812]. •Synonym of Galeus arae (Nichols 1927) -- (Compagno 1984:308 [ref. 6846], Castro 2011:323 [ref. 31457]). •Valid as Galeus cadenati Springer 1966 -- (Compagno 1999:479 [ref. 25589], Soto 2001:18 [ref. 26632], Compagno 2003:452 [ref. 26984], Weigmann 2016:39 [ref. 34211], Ehemann et al. 2019:[3] [ref. 36861]). Current status: Valid as Galeus cadenati Springer 1966. Pentanchidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic (including Caribbean Sea). Habitat: marine.
