Current status: Valid as Planaltina britskii Menezes, Weitzman & Burns 2003. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Grande, São José dos Dourados and Tietê river basins, as well as smaller tributaries of Rio Paraná in State of São Paulo and from upper rio Paraná floodplain (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
