Paratypes: ANSP 68249-51 (3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:108 [ref. 13621]. Correct spelling of original genus is Tukugobius. •Valid as Rhinogobius ocellatus (Fowler 1937) -- (Rainboth 1996:208 [ref. 22772], Kottelat 1998:115 [ref. 23436], Freyhof et al. 2000:97 [ref. 25184]). •Valid as Papuligobius ocellatus (Fowler 1937) -- (Kottelat 2001:155 [ref. 25780], Chen & Kottelat 2003:248 [ref. 27392], Kottelat 2013:417 [ref. 32989], Kottelat 2015:48 [ref. 33971]). •Valid as Tridentiger ocellatus (Fowler 1937) -- (Taki et al. 2021:443 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Papuligobius ocellatus (Fowler 1937). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Mekong basin: Thailand and Laos. Habitat: freshwater.
