Holotype (unique): QVM 1993:5:0002 (mounted, missing in 1974). Type catalog: Green 1974:2 [ref. 19267]. •Valid as Parascyllium multimaculatum Scott 1935 -- (Compagno 1984:172 [ref. 6474], Paxton et al. 1989:91 [ref. 12442]). •Synonym of Parascyllium ferrugineum McCulloch 1911 -- (Gomon et al. 1994:113 [ref. 22532], Last & Stevens 1994:120 [ref. 23873], Goto 2001:79 [ref. 25912], Compagno 2001:138 [ref. 26323], Goto & Last 2002:15 [ref. 25950], Hoese & Bray 2006:114 [ref. 29000]).
