Holotype: USNM 312926. Paratypes: BPBM 27978 (1), 29400 (1); USNM 312927 (1); ZMMU P-16022 (1). Type catalog: Anderson 2018:31 [ref. 36146]. Specimens from Nazca Ridge earlier identified as exsul are nazcae. •Valid as Plectranthias nazcae Anderson 2008 -- (Anderson & Heemstra 2012:42 [ref. 31956], Allen & Walsh 2015:83 [ref. 33954], Shepherd et al. 2018:112 [ref. 35955], Anderson 2018:31 [ref. 36146], Parenti & Randall 2020:29 [ref. 37354]). Current status: Valid as Plectranthias nazcae Anderson 2008. Anthiadidae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific: Nazca Ridge. Habitat: marine.
