Current status: Valid as Panaque armbrusteri Lujan, Hidalgo & Stewart 2010. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Tapajós River drainage, Brazil; plus potentially conspecific populations in Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
