Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:18 [ref. 19022], Oyakawa 1996:458 [ref. 23140]. •Valid as Steindachnerina stigmosa (Vari 1987) -- (Malabarba 1989:125 [ref. 14217]). •Synonym of Steindachnerina biornata (Braga & Azpelicueta 1987) -- (Vari 1991:51 [ref. 19019], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:60 [ref. 27061], Litz & Koerber 2014:7 [ref. 33622], Mirande & Koerber 2015:12 [ref. 35117], Dillman & Vari 2024:328 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Steindachnerina biornata (Braga & Azpelicueta 1987). Curimatidae. Habitat: freshwater.
