Type catalog: Anderson 2018:12 [ref. 36146]. •Valid as Anthias salmopunctatus Lubbock & Edwards 1981 -- (Feitoza et al. 2003:68 [ref. 26943], Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:75 [ref. 27192], Vaske et al. 2005:78 [ref. 36155], Luiz et al. 2007:1283 [ref. 29076]). •Valid as Choranthias salmopunctatus (Lubbock & Edwards 1981) -- (Anderson & Heemstra 2012:61 [ref. 31956], Heemstra & Anderson in Carpenter & De Angelis 2016:2386 [ref. 34618], Anderson 2018:12 [ref. 36146], Parenti & Randall 2020:11 [ref. 37354]). Current status: Valid as Choranthias salmopunctatus (Lubbock & Edwards 1981). Serranidae: Anthiadinae. Distribution: Central Atlantic Ocean: Saint Paul's Rocks (Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago). Habitat: marine.
