Holotype: USNM 214629. Paratypes: HUJ 5488-90 (1, 1, 3), 5498 (2), 5502 (1), 9210 (20 or 27), 9211 (3); SMF 9494 (1); TAU [= SMNHTAU] N.S. 4397 (1); USNM 205798-99 (14, 2). Type catalog: Springer & Orrell 1996:26 [ref. 22274], Golani 2006:31 [ref. 28840]. Spelled destae in caption to Fig. 13; named for a man so destai is correctly formed. •Valid as Enneapterygius destai Clark 1980 -- (Dor 1984:233 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:61 [ref. 25356], Fricke 1997:566 [ref. 23339], Holleman 2005:6 [ref. 28455], Fricke 2009:38 [ref. 30394], Patzner et al. 2009:445 [ref. 30396], Holleman & Bogorodsky 2012:46 [ref. 31735], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[6] 244 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:143 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Valid as Enneapterygius destai Clark 1980. Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Red Sea endemic. Habitat: marine.
