On p. 519 of English translation. •Synonym of Neogobius eurycephalus (Kessler 1874), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Miller in Whitehead et al. 1986:1060 [ref. 13677], Vasil'eva 1998:138 [ref. 23591]). •Synonymn of Neogobius platyrostris (Pallas 1814), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Reshetnikov et al. 1997:756 [ref. 24702], Vasil'eva 1998:141 [ref. 23591]). •Synonym of Neogobius eurycephalus (Kessler 1874) -- (Pinchuk et al. 2003:212 [ref. 27348], Vasil'eva 2003:S49 [ref. 28444]). •Synonym of Ponticola eurycephalus (Kessler 1874) -- (Neilson & Stepien 2009:97 [ref. 30487]). •Valid as Ponticola odessicus (Pinchuk 1877) -- (Parin et al. 2014:499 [ref. 33547], Parenti 2021:75 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Ponticola odessicus (Pinchuk 1977). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Northern Black Sea. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
