Probably meant to be in synonymy of Cynoscion parvipinnis Ayres 1861 in Chao 2002:12 [ref. 26250]. •Valid as Otolithes magdalenae Steindachner 1875 -- (Chao 2002:12 [ref. 26250] as Otolithus, typographical error, meant to be a synonym). •Synonym of Cynoscion parvipinnis Ayres 1861 -- (Chao in Fischer et al. 1995:1457 [ref. 22830], Parenti 2020:15 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Synonym of Cynoscion parvipinnis Ayres 1861. Sciaenidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
