Current status: Synonym of Tor khudree (Sykes 1839). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Habitat: freshwater. khudree, Barbus Sykes [W. H.] 1839:159 [Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1838 (pt 6) (for 27 Nov. 1838); ref. 18720] Mota Mola [Mula Mutha] River, 8 miles east of Poona, Deccan, India. No types known. Syntypes and/or Day specimens: AMS B.7870 (1, syntype?) Deccan; BMNH 1868.10.27.16-17 (2, dry); RMNH 2638 (1); ZSI 2295 (1), 7151 (1, lost). Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:156 [ref. 23762], Ferraris et al. 2000:300 [ref. 25110].
