Paralectotypes: ZMA (2, perhaps lost), ZMA 104168 (1). Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:63 [ref. 19236]. Lectotype selected by Briggs 1955:45 [ref. 637]. ZMA 104168 (1) is a paralectotype of indicus and the holotype of Lepadichthys minor. •Valid as Lepadichthys indicus (Weber 1913) -- (Shinohara et al. 2000:181 [ref. 25987], Randall et al. 2004:26 [ref. 27624]). •Valid as Pherallodus indicus (Weber 1913) -- (Briggs 1955:44 [ref. 637], Yoshino in Masuda et al. 1984:341 [ref. 6441], Lindberg et al. 1997:191 [ref. 23547], Randall 1999:26 [ref. 25829], Nakabo 2000:1121 [ref. 25182], Hutchins 2001:3548 [ref. 26291], Nakabo 2002:1121 [ref. 26193], Allen & Adrim 2003:26 [ref. 26830], Randall 2005:506 [ref. 28239], Motomura et al. 2010:200 [ref. 31256], Allen & Erdmann 2012:842 [ref. 31980], Yoshigou 2019:198 [ref. 36714], Fricke et al. 2019:263 [ref. 36673], Wada et al. 2021:47 [ref. 38521]). Current status: Valid as Pherallodus indicus (Weber 1913). Gobiesocidae: Diademichthyinae. Distribution: Western and central Pacific: Indonesia east to Pitcairn Island, north to Amami Islands (southern Japan), south to Lord Howe Island. Habitat: marine.
