Lectotype: BMNH 1940.2.15.19. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1940.2.15.20-27 (8). Lectotype established as "Lectotype selected by Dr. P. Bănărescu (in press)" in Banister & Clarke 1977:140 [7232]. Stiassny & Getahun 2007:66 [ref. 29119] have lectotype as 1940.8.15.192. •Synonym of Garra quadrimaculata (Rüppell 1835) -- (Stiassny & Getahun 2007:66 [ref. 29119] dated to Rüppell 1836). •Synonym of Garra tibanica Trewavas 1941 -- (Banister & Clarke 1977:140 [ref. 7232], Alkahem & Behnke 1983:560 [ref. 8384], Krupp 1983:607 [ref. 8320], Freyhof et al. 2020:185 [ref. 37658], Çiçek et al. 2024:129 [ref. 40789]). Current status: Synonym of Garra tibanica Trewavas 1941. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Habitat: freshwater.
