Holotype: ZMH H2738. Paratypes: ZMH H2739 (orig. 16, now 14), 2740-41 (9, 5). Genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Synonym of Nemacheilus angorae Steindachner 1897, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Goren 1974:94 [ref. 7502] as Noemacheilus). •Valid as Orthrias jordanicus (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1966) -- (Bănărescu et al. 1982:4 [ref. 174]). •Synonym of Nemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843) -- (Krupp & Schneider 1989:380 [ref. 13651]). •Valid as Oxynoemacheilus jordanicus (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1966) -- (Prokofiev 2009:880 [ref. 30604]). •Synonym of Oxynemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843) -- (Freyhof et al. 2012:309 [ref. 31752], Kottelat 2012:97 [ref. 32367], Çiçek et al. 2023:456 [ref. 40601], Çiçek et al. 2024:78 [ref. 40789]). Current status: Synonym of Oxynoemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843). Nemacheilidae. Habitat: freshwater.
