Genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Valid as Nemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Goren 1974:93 [ref. 7502]). •Synonym of Nemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843) -- (Krupp & Schneider 1989:380 [ref. 13651]). •Synonym of Oxynoemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843), but a valid subspecies or a synonym of Oxynoemacheilus jordanicus -- (Prokofiev 2009:880 [ref. 30604]). •Synonym of Oxynoemacheilus insignis (Heckel 1843) -- (Freyhof et al. 2012:309 [ref. 31752], Kottelat 2012:97 [ref. 32367] with question, Çiçek et al. 2023:456 [ref. 40601], Çiçek et al. 2024:78 [ref. 40789]).
