marginatus, Eupomacentrus Jenkins [O. P.] 1901:391, Fig. 5 [Bulletin of the U. S. Fish Commission v. 19 (1899); ref. 2340] Honolulu, Oahu Island, Hawaiian Islands. Holotype: USNM 49700. Paratypes: CAS-SU 2470 (3), 6094 (1), 7480 (1), 7942 (2), 23331 (now 19); ?FMNH 4257-59 (3), and possibly other specimens collected before 1900 by Jenkins, Wood or Jordan. Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:83 [ref. 12291]. Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied by Pomacentrus marginatus Rüppell when both are placed in Pomacentrus; Pomacentrus jenkinsi Jordan & Evermann 1903 is regarded as a replacement name (see remarks under jenkinsi). •Synonym of Stegastes fasciolatus (Ogilby 1889) -- (Allen & Emery 1985:15 [ref. 5236], Allen 1991:253 [ref. 19344], Mundy 2005:430 [ref. 28379]). •Valid as Stegastes marginatus (Jenkins 1901) -- (Randall 2007:312 [ref. 30952], Parenti 2021:84 [ref. 38418]). •Valid as Plectroglyphidodon marginatus (Jenkins 1901) -- (Tang et al. 2021:286 [ref. 38308]). 2°Homonym. Current status: Valid as Plectroglyphidodon marginatus (Jenkins 1901). Pomacentridae: Microspathodontinae. Distribution: Central Pacific: Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) endemic. Habitat: marine.
