triocellatus, Leptoclinus Matsubara [K.] 1943:38, Pl. 1 [The Journal of the Sigenkagaku Kenkyusyo v. 1 (no. 1); ref. 6514] Northeast of Suruga Bay, Japan, depth 125 fathoms. Holotype: FAKU 6465 (apparently lost). Paratypes: FAKU 6466 (1, apparently lost). The gender of Lumpenopsis is feminine, so the specific name is correctly spelled triocellata. •Valid as Lumpenopsis triocellatus (Matsubara 1943) -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:98 [ref. 7348], Amaoka & Miki in Masuda et al. 1984:302 [ref. 6441]). •Valid as Lumpenopsis triocellata (Matsubara 1943) -- (Nakabo 2000:1050 [ref. 25182], Shinohara et al. 2001:328 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:1050 [ref. 26193], Hastings & Walker 2003:804 [ref. 27260], Mecklenburg & Sheiko 2004:8 [ref. 27604], Shinohara et al. 2014:269 [ref. 33330]). Current status: Valid as Lumpenopsis triocellata (Matsubara 1943). Opisthocentridae. Distribution: Western North Pacific: Japan Sea and Pacific off central Honshu; shelf edge to continental slope. Habitat: marine.
