Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), Gulf of Aden, Comoros, Madagascar and Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to Penghu Islands (Taiwan), south to New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
