Current status: Valid as Halieutopsis bathyoreos Bradbury 1988. Ogcocephalidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: off Madagascar, Tanzania, Papua New Guinea, New Calaedonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Australia, New Zealand to Japan and the Hawaiian and Kermadec Islands. Habitat: marine.
