Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South Africa, Comoros, Madagascar and Mauritius (Mascarenes) east to Mariana, Marshall and Marquesas islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Western Australia, Queensland (Australia), New Caledonia and Tonga. Former Red Sea records are now assigned to T. springeri Knapp 2013. Habitat: marine.
