macroptera, Hemimyzon Zheng [C.-Y.] in Zheng, Chen & Huang 1982:398 (English p. 402), Fig. 5 [Zoological Research v. 3 (no. 4); ref. 21355] Yiliang Xian, Yunnan Province, China. Syntypes: JNU 773434 (1), 773438 (1); IHASW 773435-36 (2); KIZ 773437 (1). Combined with a masculine genus, the adjective should be macropterus [= large finned]. •Valid as Hemimyzon macropterus Zheng 1982 [often as macroptera] -- (Kottelat & Chu 1988:193 [ref. 13491], Zheng et al. 1989:267 [ref. 21202], Zhu 1995:138 [ref. 25213], Doi & Kottelat 1998:7 [ref. 23304], Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:543 [ref. 25272], Tang & Chen 2000:8 [ref. 25445], Chen & Fang 2009:189 [ref. 30109], Kunlapapuk et al. 2012:119 [ref. 32192], Kottelat 2012:48 [ref. 32367], Zhang et al. 2016:165 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Hemimyzon macropterus Zheng 1982. Balitoridae. Distribution: Asia: Nanpan and Beipan River basins, China. Habitat: freshwater.
