Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:155 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Parasphyraenops incisus (Colin 1978) -- (Smith-Vaniz et al. 1999:217 [ref. 25013], Heemstra et al. 2003:1327 [ref. 27060], Page et al. 2013:132 [ref. 32708], Smith-Vaniz & Jelks 2014:42 [ref. 33341], Parenti & Randall 2020:121 [ref. 37354], Carvalho-Filho 2023:126 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Parasphyraenops incisus (Colin 1978). Serranidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos Islands south to Bahia (Brazil). Habitat: marine.
