globiceps, Macrurus Vaillant [L. L.] in Filhol 1884:183, Fig. 2 [La Nature, Paris No. 559, 16 Feb. 1884; ref. 1326] Spanish Sahara, 23°57'N, 17°12'W, station 78, depth 1400-1435 meters. Lectotype: MNHN 1886-0092. Paralectotypes: MNHN 1883-0109 (1, poor condition), 1886-0083 and 0084 (1, 1), 1886-0085 (1), 1886-0086 (1), 1886-0090 (1), 1886-0091 (1, poor condition), 1886-0093 (1, poor condition). Type catalog: Bailly et al. 1999:229 [ref. 24244]. Type information: Bauchot et al. 1972:662 [ref. 11384] but with original genus as Cetonorus and with MNHN 1886-92 as holotype; technically no holotype was established originally. Original genus should have been Macrourus. Also described as new as Hymenocephalus globiceps in Vaillant 1888:386 [ref. 4496].
