Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, Persian Gulf, Madagascar and Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius, Rodrigues) east to Philippines and Fiji, north to Tosa Bay (southern Japan), south to Kimberley (Western Australia), Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
