Distribution: Western Atlantic: Massachusetts (U.S.A.) and Bermuda south to northern Argentina, including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, with juveniles reaching Nova Scotia (Canada); eastern Atlantic: Morocco south to northern Angola, including Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, São Tomé and Principe.
