Name attributable to Schneider, description taken from Forster manuscript (reproduced in Lichtenstein 1844:285-286 [ref. 17531] as "Pleuronectes pictus"). •Possibly a synonym of Bothus mancus (Broussonet 1782) -- (R. Fricke, pers. comm., 1/19/2007). Current status: Uncertain as Bothus mancus (Broussonet 1782). Bothidae. Habitat: marine. macropterus, Rhombus Quoy [J. R. C.] & Gaimard [J.
