Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa (Mozambiquem Tanzania, Kenya), Seychelles, Aldabra (Seychelles), Comoros, Madagascar, Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Pitcairn Group, north to Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands(Japan) and Ogasawara Islands (Japan), south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
