Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Eastern Cape, Kwaulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Gulf of Adem, Gulf of Oman, Persian Gulf, Madagascar and western Mascarenes (La RĂ©union, Mauritius) east to Fiji, north to southern Sea of Japan and Sagami Bay (Japan), south to Western Australia, New South Wales (Australia) and New Caledonia; Mediterranean Sea (Red Sea immigrant). Habitat: brackish, marine.
